The Juneau Marathon is an annual road running event in Juneau, Alaska, primarily organized on Douglas Island, just across the Gastineau Channel from downtown Juneau. Its origins can be traced to city-sponsored marathons in Juneau that ran from 1971 to 1988. Frank Maier, a local architect and marathon enthusiast, was a consistent participant during the 1980s.
