The Scheels BurliMOT Half Marathon is a unique running event that showcases the beautiful communities of Burlington and Minot, ND by way of a scenic 13.1 mile course that follows the Souris Valley along dedicated running/biking paths. The race ends in downtown Minot at Citizen s Alley. All runners registered for the half marathon, half marathon relay, or 5K by September 1st will receive a custom BurliMOT shirt. Medals will be also be provided for all half marathon, half marathon relay, and 5K finishers. Races: Half Marathon - Starts in Burlington on Saturday, September 12th at 8:00am. Shuttles will be available from downtown to get you to the start line. Parking near the race start is located on the north side of the Sports Complex; please follow Colton Ave to Davis St North, then turn right onto Valley Ave. The race ends downtown Minot. Half Marathon Relay - This race starts at the same time as the Half Marathon and follows the same course. Relay runners can exchange wherever they want along the course. The first leg can run 11 miles and the second can run 2.1, if they choose. The second leg will just need to be waiting on the course wherever the team decides and hop on when the first leg gets to that point. You may also add additional runners (up to 4 total) and each can run their own portion of the half marathon relay, exchanging wherever your team decides. The cost of the Half Marathon Relay covers two participants, but additional shirts and medals will be available for purchase for those additional runners. The half way point is located by Dakota Bark Park at 2905 7th Ave SW, Minot. There is no shuttle to the half way point so although those running the 1st leg can hop on the shuttle to get to the start of their leg in Burlington, the 2nd leg is responsible for getting themselves to the start of the the 2nd leg.
