Avenue of the Giants Marathon

The event called Avenue of the Giants Marathon takes place annually in early May in Humboldt Redwoods State Park, California, traversing the Avenue of the Giants, a highway renowned for its ancient redwood trees. Established in 1972 by the Six Rivers Running Club during the early boom of long-distance running in Humboldt County, its creation aimed to offer local athletes a qualifying opportunity for national competitions, including the U.S. Olympic Trials and, later, the Boston Marathon.\n\nThe
